A tuition-free public charter high school on the Jane Addams Campus in the South Bronx, where every student is prepared for college, career, and community leadership.

United Charter High School for the Humanities II (UCHS HUM II) is a tuition-free public charter high school located at the Jane Addams Campus at 900 Tinton Avenue in the South Bronx. Part of the United Charter High Schools network, UCHS HUM II serves students in grades 9 through 12 with a humanities-focused, college-preparatory education.
The school's educational model is built around critical thinking, civic engagement, and career preparation. As an early college institution, students can earn up to 9 college credits through dual enrollment partnerships with Monroe University and Hostos College before they graduate. AP courses in Literature, Language, and Spanish complement a curriculum that has produced a 91% Seal of Civic Readiness rate and a 91% Seal of Biliteracy rate.
With an ICT co-teaching model that places two teachers in most classrooms, reading intervention built into the school day, office hours four days a week, and Saturday school for Regents prep, UCHS HUM II ensures that every student has the support they need to succeed. Students also have access to STEM programs (Hydroponics, Forensic Science, Data Science), athletics, arts, and a vibrant club life.
Every classroom, conversation, and college course at UCHS HUM II is guided by our commitment to preparing students for the world beyond high school.
Students are encouraged to ask meaningful questions, explore solutions, and confidently demonstrate their learning across every subject and discipline.
From Theater Arts and Visual Arts to Photography Club and hydroponics, UCHS HUM II gives students space to innovate, create, and express themselves.
We build graduates who can adapt, persevere, and thrive. Our curriculum is responsive to student needs and informed by data to ensure every student's success.
91% of students earn the Seal of Civic Readiness. We prepare students to change their communities using civic strategies and leadership skills they develop here.
Our educators are passionate, experienced, and deeply committed to the South Bronx community they serve.

Led by Principal David W. Neagley, the leadership team ensures academic rigor, a respectful school culture, and strong partnerships with families and the community.
